Every year I plan to read one million books. I buy stacks and stacks with the vision of myself lying on the couch, reading, lying on the beach, reading, lying in the bathtub, reading, reading, and reading!
This vision, of course, doesn’t take into account that I spend like no time horizontal. I mean, I’m a single mom who’s working! Constantly!1 But that’s not who I am when I’m buying books. Then I’m this wonderful dreamy version of myself who’s a full time writer and reader and I refuse to give her up. I don’t care if my TBR stacks are fully out of control—I’m too excited about all the worlds I’m gonna dive into.
~ eventually ~
This year I hoped to read 50-ish books. Instead I ended up reading 36. Even though I didn’t slay my goal, there was still a ton I was excited about!
